4D PROCESS
After
analyzing your project we employ the 4D approach (Design,
Develop, Deploy & Document). This approach will
follow the established pattern of outlining & developing
discreet modules with definite time limits and merge
them seamlessly at the end.
Design
This process will outline in detail the exact components
of the site. The client will confirm each layout. The
exact templates, which will be required, will also be
specified. Database design will play a critical role
at this juncture. The no of tables, fields, keys &
foreign-keys, views & relationships will be defined.
All the above things combined will ultimately be part
of the system design document, which the client will
have to confirm. The design process is critical in that
it immediately restricts the scope to what is in the
design. The exact objectives become clear and the full
team including the client exactly knows what is required.
Development
The approved design document will be divided into two
separate sections with two distinct areas of operation.
User
Interface, which will ensure that end-user enjoys lucid
navigation. Each and every screen, which the user will
see, will be designed in a template.
Programming now this can be two layered in a nature,
since the 1st layer of User Interface will be entirely
handled by the creative team. The middle layer will
form the core of business logic and the third layer
will be database level which will governed by a few
but critical programs which will ultimately update/retrieve
the data from the tables.
Deployment
Once the complete development of a particular module
is ready, including the approval of the same from the
project manager, it will be handed over for initial
checking by the user. The implementation will be done
on a module-to-module basis and one permanent team (comprising
of Project Manager,1 programmer & one creative)
will be assigned to deal with any problems, which may
crop up while user testing is on. The client will approve
each individual module.
Document
The documentation process will be happening along side
each of the three stages outlined above. The technical
writer will be present at each meeting and keep track
of each modification request, responsibility and the
ultimate time frame for delivery.
